As the kids say: We might have some heat with this one!
On Christmas Day, streaming giant Netflix dropped a trailer for “Happy Gilmore 2,” a sequel to the 1996 classic comedy film starring Adam Sandler.
Kansas City Chiefs tight end (and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend) Travis Kelce is featured in the trailer, adding to his entertainment resume. He was previously in “Grotesquerie” on FX and is also host of Prime Video’s “Are You Smarter than a Celebrity.” (RELATED: Lily Balkcom Screams America After Proving That She’s Also An Elite Hunter)
Coming back as Gilmore’s lady friend, Virginia Venit, will be Julie Bowen. Christopher McDonald will also be making a return as the legendary Shooter McGavin. Along with Kelce, other famous celebrities, athletes and pop culture figures will be included, like Jack Nicklaus, Eminem, Bad Bunny, Kid Cudi, Benny Safdie, Nick Swardson and Margaret Qualley. The director of the film is Kyle Newacheck.
Mix all of that in with this trailer, and we might have a certified banger, ladies and gentlemen.

I’m a bit skeptical about the Travis Kelce cameo (not a fan), but overall, everything about the movie looks and sounds great. Sure, the trailer could have been a bit better and Netflix could have given us a little more content, but honestly, how on earth do you not get excited about a “Happy Gilmore 2” regardless of the marketing?
That’s where I’m at. As a big fan of the original, I’m locked in to the sequel.
