Travis Kelce’s Heartfelt Proposal to Taylor Swift

Ed Kelce shared some heartfelt insights into his son Travis’s enchanting proposal to Taylor Swift.

The couple, who began their romance in the summer of 2023, excited fans globally with their engagement news announced on Tuesday.

During a conversation with Ed, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end recounted his first call with Travis right after he popped the question to the 14-time Grammy winner.

“He took her to this wonderful place, planning to go out for dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s grab some wine first’… It was really beautiful when he asked her,” Ed shared.

The proud father mentioned that Travis and the “August” singer got engaged two weeks prior, and fans speculate that the proposal happened just hours after recording the “New Heights” podcast.

On the day of the engagement, Ed was at a Philadelphia Eagles practice, where his older son, Jason, had played for 12 seasons before retiring last year.

“I was… at this public practice, and there were, wow, about 60,000 fans there just two Sundays ago,” Ed recalled.

As he shared these memories, Ed mentioned receiving a FaceTime call from Travis.

“So, during that practice… I got a FaceTime call, and right away I saw Taylor with him,” he said, excitedly reminiscing about the moment.

It was, as Ed put it, a sight to see them all together, along with their families, celebrating their love story.

“They’re just two young people in the spotlight, and honestly, it’s not something they seek out,” Ed noted.

Interestingly, he also revealed that Taylor had been feeling a bit anxious leading up to the proposal.

“Travis planned to wait until this week, but I think she was getting somewhat restless, wondering about it,” Ed explained.

He encouragingly told Travis, “You could ask her anywhere – make it special with a heartfelt moment on one knee.”
