WASHINGTON – The Trump administration began an investigation Friday. $250 million With annual federal funding, the post learned hours after a fierce clash between Democratic government Janet Mills and President Trump over transgender movement policies.
“You'll follow better! Otherwise, you don't have federal funding,” Trump told Mills at the White House Governor's Summit in the afternoon.
Shortly afterwards, the Department of Education's Civil Rights Office sent a letter to Maine Education Commissioner Pendermakin and the local school district overseers, and officially asked how the transgender Paul Vault champion was awarded the national championship earlier this week. The investigation has been announced.
The survey will check whether state and local policies comply with Title IX federal protections for female athletes. This bans transgender students from participating in women's sports under an executive order signed by Trump on February 5th.
“Dear Commissioner Makin: The U.S. Department of Education (Department) Office of Civil Rights (OCR) is writing to notify you that it has launched an orderly investigation of the Maine Department of Education,” Craig's trainer. The letter from the book states: For civil rights.
“OCR instructions survey will check whether it is [Maine School Administrative District] #51 denies the benefits and opportunities of equal movement for female athletes through athletic participation policies that allow biological men to participate in inter-integrated athletics for girls,” the trainer wrote.
“According to a trusted local report, Greely High School, located within MSAD #51, has intentionally allowed at least one male student-athlete to continue competing in designated sports categories and events for girls.” said the letter.

“In fact, MSAD #51 posted a statement online that “according to state law” was “in accordance with MDOE's instructions “in regard to transgender policies.”
“'' MSAD #51 postpones the Private Association policy that it recently stated its intention to continue the “gender identity” policy for athletics conflicting with the title, such as the Main Principal Association. The Title IX compliance obligation cannot be avoided. IX is a requirement to not discriminate against girls based on gender. ”
Trump and Mills went over Pinetree State's stance before the investigation began.
“Maine, is the governor of Maine here?” Trump asked at an event in the state's dining room.
“Yeah, I'm here,” replied Mills.
“Are you planning on following that?” Trump asked about his transgender policy.
“I will follow state and federal law,” she said.
“We are federal law,” the president told her, “You better do that. Should you do that, or you don't get federal funds if you don't. By the way , your population doesn't want men to play with women's sports. Otherwise you'll follow better because you don't get federal funds.”
“See you in court!” the governor responded.
“That's nice, I'll see you in court. I'm looking forward to it. It should be really easy,” Trump declared.
“And enjoy your life after the governor, because I don't think you're in elected politics.”
