Homeland Security Advisor Criticizes Media Coverage
At a press conference on Wednesday, Homeland Security Advisor Tricia McLaughlin expressed frustration that the media has overlooked the victims affected by illegal immigration.
Judge Brian E. Murphy, a Biden appointee from the Massachusetts area, accused the Trump administration of breaching court orders by deporting eight illegal immigrants to South Sudan. McLaughlin emphasized to reporters the importance of sharing the stories of those victims.
“Local judges in Massachusetts are attempting to compel the U.S. to let these dangerous individuals, who pose a real threat to public safety, remain,” McLaughlin stated. “We’re following laws and court orders, yet it’s absurd for district judges to influence U.S. foreign policy and national security.”
The Supreme Court recently addressed a national injunction issued by a judge. Meanwhile, the White House released a factsheet outlining the criminal backgrounds of the eight deported immigrants, which include serious offenses like murder, assault, and child sexual abuse.
“These are the individuals that district judges seem intent on protecting. It’s a stark and troubling contrast,” McLaughlin remarked. “President Trump and Secretary Noem are working daily to remove these criminals from American streets. Yet activist judges are opposing that effort.”
She continued, “Before I turn it over to acting director Todd Lyons, I urge the journalists here to fulfill your role. We have provided the names of these offenders. Now, please share the stories of the innocent Americans affected. I genuinely ask you to stop prioritizing these reprehensible individuals.”
Since taking office on January 20th, President Trump has issued various executive orders to tackle illegal immigration and bolster border security, categorizing certain gangs, including the Mexican drug cartels and MS-13, as foreign terrorist organizations.
