Political Commentary on a Recent Episode of “The View”
Alyssa Farrah Griffin, a co-host on ABC’s “The View,” had previously made a promise: she said that if President Donald Trump facilitated the release of Israeli hostages, she would don a “Make America Great Again” hat on her show. And, as it turns out, she did just that.
A former aide to Trump had commented back in January about celebrating Trump’s achievements, even while being critical of the ongoing administration. At that time, Griffin had confidently declared, “I promise that if I rescue an Israeli hostage, I’ll wear a MAGA hat on my show for a day and say thank you for doing it.”
Sunny Hostin, another co-host, chimed in, jokingly pleading, “Please don’t do that.” To which Griffin playfully replied, “She’ll knock it off my head.”
Recently, in a significant development, 20 living hostages were returned to Israel after more than two years, thanks to a peace agreement facilitated by the Trump administration involving both Hamas and Israel.
Donald Trump Jr. took to social media to share a video clip from January on the same day his father was in Israel to mark the cease-fire. He urged followers to share the video, writing, “Send this to the top. Let’s go.”
During the latest episode of “The View,” while Griffin did not bring up the MAGA hat, she expressed her appreciation for Trump’s involvement in the peace agreement. “If this peace deal is reached, which I hope it will be, I think it will be historic. It’s a great diplomatic achievement, and I believe the world can breathe a sigh of relief,” she remarked.
Meanwhile, in the United States, Trump reflected on Griffin’s earlier promise during an event at the White House. “So she wore a hat?” he asked, seeking clarification after an interviewer responded negatively about whether she had followed through.
He recalled, “She used to work here. I’ll tell you about Alyssa. She wrote me one of the most beautiful letters,” referring to the 2020 election. “She told me I was a great president and had done a wonderful job.” Trump noted that even after his presidency, he continued to receive appreciative letters.
In an unexpected turn, Trump voiced skepticism about Griffin’s current position on “The View,” suggesting that after she started receiving compensation, her perspective changed. “I never thought she would make it…But she’s on ‘The View.’ It just shows how deceptive that platform can be,” he claimed, referencing her previous praise.
