Former President Donald Trump surpassed President Biden’s longtime fundraising lead, according to donation filings in June.
Republicans raised $66 million throughout the month, propelling the Trump campaign to surpass the current president’s campaign spending. June was the Republican Party’s biggest monthly fundraising month since 2020, according to The Washington Post.
The latest data comes after the Trump campaign spent much of the summer bragging that it had raised more money than the Biden campaign. Trump’s election campaign In early July, the group and the Republican National Committee announced they had raised an astounding $331 million in fundraising from April through June in the second quarter of 2024, eclipsing the massive $264 million raised by the Biden campaign and the Democratic National Committee during the same period.
The former president’s campaign also highlighted that it had $284.9 million raised as of the end of June, compared to Biden’s $240 million.
