President Donald Trump is rolling out plans to deploy additional active-duty troops to the southern border, moving quickly on his promise to end the country's illegal immigration crisis, according to reports.
This was announced by US officials. fox news The Trump administration's Pentagon announced Wednesday that it is preparing to disperse 1,500 troops to various locations along the U.S.-Mexico border.

It is not immediately clear which troops will be sent or where they will be stationed. However, the news agency said the administration plans to make a formal announcement on Wednesday night.
U.S. officials told Fox News that additional troops would arrive by the end of January.
In May 2023, former President Joe Biden stationed 2,500 military personnel at the southern border. The troops are expected to remain in the country until the end of fiscal year 2025, the news agency said.
Military personnel are not directly tasked with immigration control. In turn, they provide other support to Customs and Border Protection and other agencies, including detection and surveillance, logistics, management, and mechanical support.
President Trump is also working to protect the nation's coastlines from the possibility of mass migration from the ocean.

It also has a growing presence around Alaska, Hawaii, and several U.S. territories.
