Trump Considering Withdrawing GOP Support Due to Sexual Misconduct Allegations

President Donald Trump might be reconsidering his “full and utter support” for Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb, an Arizona congressman. This comes after reports surfaced about Lamb’s alleged extramarital affair, according to a source close to the White House who spoke with the Daily Caller.

The individual, an adviser involved in candidate support decisions at the White House, mentioned that endorsements could be pulled because they view presidential backing as a “golden rule.” It’s been emphasized that they take these matters seriously to maintain their reputation. “The only federal candidate to lose this cycle with the president’s support was Tony Gonzalez, who faced a sexual abuse scandal,” the adviser noted, highlighting their sensitivity to similar issues affecting Lamb, who is now under similar scrutiny. They also have a viable alternative candidate in Daniel Keenan, who aligns more closely with Trump’s policies.

“It’s certainly a possibility,” the source said.

On Wednesday, reports from Arizona Republic indicated allegations against a Congressional candidate known for promoting family values. It was suggested that Lamb and his wife were involved in “swapping,” meaning partner exchanges and affairs.

Jillian Stannard, the ex-wife of a Lamb Sheriff’s Office employee, claimed that her spouse revealed Lamb had facilitated a years-long “sexual relationship” between his wife, Janelle, and Stannard’s husband. The Republic noted that Facebook messages and images shared by Stannard seem to corroborate these allegations.

Other women, critical of Lamb, have taken to social media to voice their accusations. One of them, Tammy Peacock, claimed before her death in 2021 that Lamb threatened to reveal messages regarding their supposed affair.

In response to these claims, Lamb had former Pinal County Attorney Kent Volkmer’s office probe allegations of criminal harassment against the women. Volkmer remarked that while an informal investigation occurred, it didn’t lead to charges, and starting a formal one would be a conflict of interest.

Although it was determined that the man in a compromising photo wasn’t Lamb, they chose not to investigate the photo’s origin, opting instead to examine Peacock’s criminal history. Volkmer expressed doubt about the veracity of Peacock’s claims but stated he wasn’t ready to dismiss them entirely, saying, “I hope it’s nonsense. But I can’t say for sure.”

Messages reportedly exchanged between Peacock and Lamb contained detailed and explicit content, including photos of them together. One message stated, “I would love to see a video of you rubbing it!” Peacock was found dead in 2021, and a coroner’s report indicated she had methamphetamine in her system.

The allegations also led to scrutiny from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lamb’s church.

Lamb was initially endorsed by Trump last November, who praised him as a “MAGA warrior” fostering many of the prevailing policies associated with Trump. Trump’s enthusiastic remarks concluded with assurances, “He will never let you down!”

However, if Lamb loses Trump’s backing, Jay Feely, a former NFL kicker who is also a candidate, could potentially gain that support. The White House and Lamb’s team have not yet responded to inquiries from the Daily Caller.
