Trump courts Granite State voters as primary inches closer: Watch live

Former President Trump continues his campaign in New Hampshire on Saturday as voters in the Granite State prepare to cast their ballots in the nation's first primary next week.

Mr. Trump will head to Manchester, New Hampshire, on Friday in high spirits after receiving a much-needed endorsement from Sen. Tim Scott (R.S.C.) while campaigning in the state capital.

Trump's closest rival in the state, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, trails Trump by just 11.4 percentage points, according to the latest polling averages from The Hill/Decision Desk.

Both candidates had reason to believe Scott would support them. Haley's supporters, including New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, slammed Scott following her announcement.

President Trump will be joined by House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., who is scheduled to speak at 7 p.m. ET.

Stefanik was floated as the former president's running mate in November. Haley's name was also mentioned, but both candidates appeared to drop the idea on Friday.
