Veteran journalist Bob Woodward said Monday on MSNBC's “Inside” that President-elect Donald Trump is “giving the middle finger to the American people” when it comes to nominees for the second administration.
Host Jen Psaki said, “I wanted to ask you, you've covered the secretary of defense through the teenage presidents, knowing what we know about Pete Hegseth.'' , do you think he is capable of doing the job?”
Mr. Woodward said, “Well, someone with military experience and management experience should get the job. From what I've read about him, no, he doesn't.”
“You have to ask yourself why Trump wouldn't want someone with at least some experience,” he added. He is trying to replicate the imperial precedent. He wants to tell me I can do whatever I want. It's up to me alone. ”
When asked about Tulsi Gabbard, Woodward said: What is the purpose? ”
“I've written three books about Trump and spent many hours with him, and my goal is to give him all the voice and all the power, because real power is fear.” he added. God knows and fears, and you know, that's the situation we're living in right now. These are scary times because he will be president for four more years. This is an idea that is almost unconstitutional, not literally unconstitutional, but look. Why would you want someone who doesn't know what they're doing? My check engine light went out and I went into the wrong store. That makes no sense and is like giving the middle finger to the American people. ”
