President Trump on Wednesday formally nominated Sean Curran, the president's personal Secret Service security chief, to be Director of the U.S. Secret Service.
In a post on Truth Social on Wednesday, President Trump wrote that he was “honored” to appoint Curran.
“Sean is a great patriot who has protected my family over the past several years, which is why I trust him to lead the brave men and women of the United States Secret Service,” the president said.
President Trump went on to call Curran “an outstanding leader capable of directing and leading operational security planning for some of the most complex special security incidents in the history of our nation and the world.” .

“He demonstrated his fearless courage when he risked his life to save mine from an assassin's bullet in Butler, Pennsylvania,” President Trump said. “I have complete and total confidence in Sean that he will make the U.S. Secret Service stronger than ever.”
