Former President Trump on Friday criticized Vice President Harris’ newly released economic plan, claiming her proposals would make costs “100 times worse.”
“If you think prices are high now, they will be 100 times higher after four years of Kamala as president,” he said. Written At Truth Social.
The former president released three back-to-back posts slamming Harris’ economic policies, which she unveiled while campaigning in North Carolina on Friday. The wide-ranging proposals, including tax cuts, expanded tax credits for child care and first-time homebuyers and a federal ban on food price gouging, would be policy priorities for her first 100 days in office if she is elected vice president in November, her campaign said.
In his post, Trump compared Harris’ plan to a communist policy.
“Under her plan, Kamala would implement Soviet-style price controls,” he wrote in one post, adding, “She would abolish private health care and make California’s ridiculous tax code the law of the land – which means every American will be taxed up to 80% of their income!”
in Another Post “If Kamala gets elected and implements a communist-style price cap policy, we will see hunger, starvation and poverty like we’ve never seen before,” he said.
According to an analysis by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, Harris’ proposal could cost $1.7 trillion over 10 years, with $1.2 trillion of that coming from the proposed expansion of the child tax credit.
The Hill has reached out to Harris’ campaign for comment.
During his rant, Trump also claimed the vice president’s policies could help illegal immigrants.
“Kamala Harris wants to raise your taxes to pay for free healthcare and free housing in luxury hotels for millions of illegal immigrants,” he wrote.
Harris’ announcement did not directly mention any provisions regarding illegal immigration, but she did advocate lowering prescription drug prices and increasing affordable housing by building 3 million new units.
As the two candidates battled over what are seen as the biggest issues facing voters ahead of the election, the former president unveiled his own economic policy proposals, with Harris seemingly endorsing the former president’s plan to make tips tax-free for service and hospitality workers, a surprise move for Democrats.
Republican candidate Harris also criticized her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, a Democrat, in a post on Friday.
“Kamala and Walz will put criminals, terrorists and illegal immigrants first,” he said. Posts“I will always put law-abiding, hard-working, patriotic Americans first.”
