On Sunday in NBC's “Meet the Press,” Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) condemned President Donald Trump's second term actions, claiming he attempted to destroy the rule of law.
Murphy This is not a normal political moment, not a normal political battle. What Donald Trump is doing now is absolutely sid. He behaves unconstitutional every day. He is about to destroy the rule of law. And for what? Basically, we can pass our government to the billionaires ranks and they can steal from us. There is an absolutely unprecedented level of corruption in the White House. ”
He added: And for those of us who voted against this budget bill, part of our concern is giving the President a new authority to move money, start new programming, and cut down some important services for the poor and middle class. I fully understand my colleagues who don't want to push us to shut down, but I think the Americans actually understood that Republicans had an obligation to negotiate with Democrats. ”
