Trump’s response to Harvard is ‘excessive,’ according to Pat Toomey.

A federal judge has intervened, preventing the Trump administration from enforcing a ban that would affect the registration of international students at Harvard.

As a result, Harvard will proceed to register over 6,700 foreign students on campus. However, the White House has criticized the university’s stance, labeling it as cultivating a “dangerous” atmosphere that is “non-American.” They claim Harvard’s refusal to yield to the administration’s pressures amounts to a punishment for not adhering to political demands.

Moreover, Harvard faces significant financial repercussions, including the freezing of more than $2 billion in grants and a $60 million contract from the government.

Former Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey, who graduated from Harvard, expressed his concerns during an appearance on News Nation’s “hill.” He suggested that the university isn’t doing enough to ensure a safe environment on campus.

“I think the administration’s response is a bit excessive,” Toomey remarked. “I would like to see a retraction on this. It seems Harvard recognizes that safety is their top priority.”

Toomey further emphasized that Harvard should communicate its commitment to addressing and correcting issues related to campus safety.
