Gabbard Warns of Imminent Nuclear Threat
In a recent video shared on social media, Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence, delivered a serious warning about the potential for a “nuclear holocaust.” She expressed strong criticism of what she termed “warmongers,” suggesting that their actions are bringing the world perilously close to nuclear disaster.
This three-minute video, posted on Tuesday, featured unsettling imagery from Hiroshima, Japan, highlighting the devastating effects of the nuclear bomb dropped there in 1945 during World War II.
“I recently visited Hiroshima, and stood at the epicenter of a city scarred by the unimaginable horror caused by a single nuclear bomb dropped in 1945. What I saw, the stories I heard, and the haunting sadness that remains, will stay with me forever,” Gabbard shared on social media.
In her video, Gabbard stated, “This isn’t some made-up science fiction story. This is the reality of what’s at stake, what we are facing now, because as we stand here today, closer to the brink of nuclear annihilation than ever before, political elite and warmongers are carelessly fomenting fear and tensions between nuclear powers.”
She added, “Perhaps it’s because they are confident that they will have access to nuclear shelters for themselves and for their families that regular people won’t have access to. So it’s up to us, the people, to speak up and demand an end to this madness.”
Gabbard’s alarming statements come at a time when the Trump administration is advocating for renewed negotiations with Iran regarding its nuclear program. Recently, President Trump expressed doubts about Iran’s willingness to comply with a new nuclear deal that would necessitate halting uranium enrichment. However, he remains committed to preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
When questioned by the New York Post about his expectations for reaching an agreement with Iran, Trump responded, “I don’t know… I did think so, and I’m getting more and more — less confident about it. They seem to be delaying, and I think that’s a shame, but I’m less confident now than I would have been a couple of months ago.”
