At least three individuals were reported injured following Ukraine’s strikes on Russian ballistic missiles and drones early Friday, according to officials.
Residents of the capital heard multiple explosions. In Kiev, debris scattered across several neighborhoods as the air defense system worked to intercept incoming threats, noted Tymur Tkachenko, the head of the city government.
Local authorities confirmed injuries to three people.
Officials urged the public to seek shelter.
“Our air defense forces are doing everything possible, but we must protect one another,” Tkachenko said.
Several districts experienced damage, with rescue workers operating in multiple areas.
A fire erupted on the 11th floor of a 16-story residential building in the Solomiyansky district.
Emergency services managed to evacuate three residents from the apartment as rescue efforts continued.
Another fire also started in a metal warehouse.
Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, the chief of the military regime in the northern region of Chernichv, reported an explosion occurred near residential buildings, resulting in shattered windows and doors.
He mentioned that explosions from ballistic missiles were recorded on the outskirts of the city.
This nighttime onslaught presented an unexpected shift from Trump’s frequent insistence on halting the Three Years’ War. Recently, he expressed that it might be better for Ukraine and Russia to “fight for a while” and later pursue peace.
Trump made these comments during a meeting with the new German Prime Minister, referring to him as the “lockman of the world” who could intervene to stop the violence by pressuring Russian President Vladimir Putin.
