A US soldier who was arrested in Russia over a week ago was stabbed by his Russian girlfriend during a video call months before his capture in front of his ex-daughter and her young daughter, according to reports.

Reuters did not reveal the girlfriend’s name, but previous reports said Black was in a relationship with a Russian woman named Aleksandra Vashchuk.
According to Russian authorities, the bloody incident took place months before Sergeant Black was arrested on suspicion of theft after an altercation in the Russian far eastern city of Vladivostok on May 2.
Mr. Black was stationed at Camp Humphreys on the outskirts of Seoul, but was in Russia on personal business and is being held in pre-trial confinement. The Pentagon said he violated Army regulations and flew to Russia without permission from the Army.
