a delta airlines A client recently told me about the nightmare every traveler experiences: her husband getting stuck in the bathroom of an airplane.
His wife, whose first name is Rachel, shared her bizarre experience on the Reddit community r/Delta on February 28th. The incident occurred in early December.
“Recently, on a Delta flight from Salt Lake City to New Orleans, my husband, Brent, got up to go to the bathroom and left my 4-year-old and 2-year-old in line,” the mother wrote.

“No big deal. I thought we’d get our two toddlers back soon.”
Last week, a wife named Rachel posted on Reddit about how her husband, Brent, was locked in an airplane bathroom for over 30 minutes. (@StuckDeltaBathroom/BONVOYAGED/TMX)
Rachel then explained that after five minutes she started wondering where her husband was.
“Did he use this time as a much-needed break from my children’s whining?” [sic] Are there demands or frequent tantrums? I didn’t blame him,” she added.
She soon heard that someone was locked in the bathroom and realized it was her husband.
“My attention shifted to the back of the plane, where, sure enough, two Delta flight attendants were pulling on the bathroom door handle in an attempt to rescue my trapped husband,” Rachel said. explained.

“Immediately, two flight attendants (both women) recruited a random male passenger to help remove the door. He tried his best, but to no avail…[My husband was still] Trapped inside a 3.5 x 5 foot box of pee and poop. ”
Video of the incident showed the pilot kicking the door in an attempt to loosen it. The flight attendant also helped me open the door.
Eventually, after Brent was “kicked out of hell, the door opened.” [it]” said my wife. Her relieved husband immediately shook the pilot’s hand and expressed his gratitude.
“Thank God Brent didn’t take our 4-year-old with him,” his wife wrote on Reddit. She said: “Thank God it was a 34-year-old man who was stranded and not an elderly person or a young child.”
“Thank God I’m not one of those claustrophobic or germaphobic panic attacks.”

The airline reportedly offered Brent 2,000 SkyMiles as an apology, which is only worth $23. Rachel said the flight cost $300 each way.
Rachel told TMX that her husband was not very happy with Delta’s customer service.
“Brent would like to make it clear that the airline staff were wonderful and that both the flight attendants and the pilots were doing their best to help in this unfortunate situation,” she explained. “However, he is disappointed in Delta’s customer service.”
”[W]This $23 token doesn’t adequately address the situation, as we’ve seen time and time again Delta Airlines offer overbooked passengers hundreds of dollars worth of tickets to board later flights. I felt it wasn’t there. ”
Delta Air Lines told Fox News Digital that it is currently working on a settlement with the families.
