Democrat Michigan Sen. Mallory McMorrow announced Wednesday that he was running for the Michigan Open Senate seat in 2026.
McMorrow said in An Announcement video Michigan needs a new leader, adding that “the same old crap from Washington” will not fix the current “fear and danger.”
“We need a new leader,” McMorrow said in the announcement video. “Because the same people in DC who have caught us in this mess aren't meant to drive us out.
The state senator previously called for Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer to step down from his position after the party leader faced a massive party backlash over his decision to advance the GOP spending bill supported by President Donald Trump.
