Another week of high school football is upon us, and this week looks much different than previous weeks in terms of the number of top games.
Still, there are plenty of interesting showdowns scheduled for Friday, so let's break down this week's top five matchups across the country.
Central Thomas County (Georgia) vs. Lee County (Georgia)
This week's matchup between IMG and Phenix City Central was canceled due to Hurricane Helen, so we have a new top game scheduled for this week, and we'll have to travel to Georgia to find it.
A battle of Georgia's top two undefeated teams pits Thomas County Central (5-0) against Lee County (5-0), with both teams starting the season in great shape. The game is set for Saturday at 12pm ET.
Thomas County Central has dominated each of its opponents this year, winning every game by at least 30 points, with Lee County winning by 60, 48 and 45 points.
Thomas County Central quarterback Jalen Johnson has started the season strong, throwing for 894 yards, 10 touchdowns and one interception through five games, while rushing for five scores. Complementing him is top running back Christian Lawrence, who already has 673 yards and nine scores this year.
Lee County's powerful offense is led by top running back Ousmane Kromah, who has already rushed for 605 yards and seven touchdowns this season. This battle between Georgia's top teams should be fun on the ground and in the air.
UPDATE: 2025 four-star running back target Ousmane Kroma has postponed his appearance until October 5th. The execution was originally scheduled for September 28th.

Clay Chalkville (Alabama) vs. Thompson (Alabama)
Two of Alabama's hottest teams will clash this week, with 5-0 Clay Chalkville taking on 4-1 Thompson on the road Friday.
Clay-Chalkville won those two games by an 87-0 margin thanks to the combination of junior quarterback Aaron Frye and senior receiver Jabari Staples, and has won consecutive shutouts.
Meanwhile, Thompson has won four straight after losing the season opener and hopes to ride on a strong defense as does sophomore QB Trent Seaborn.
This week could be a battle of defenses as both teams face their toughest tests yet.
Westfield (Indiana) vs. Brownsburg (Indiana)
Additionally, Westfield will play Brownsburg this weekend in a matchup between Indiana's top two teams.
Both teams are 5-0, but getting there wasn't easy. Last weekend, Westfield narrowly defeated Hamilton Southeastern in overtime, while Brownsburg remained undefeated with a 31-30 win over Fishers last week.
The game promises to be a great quarterback battle, with Bowling Green commit Carsen Melvin leading the team against Brownsburg's 2027 signal-caller Oscar Frei, who already has a scholarship offer. trying to lead.
Indiana's top team standings will be at stake here Friday. Both teams face their biggest test yet as they navigate tough in-state competition, with Brownsburg holding home-field advantage for this game.
Don Bosco (New Jersey) vs. Bergen Catholic (New Jersey)
Moving on to New Jersey, we can't forget Bergen Catholic's strong start to the season, winning three straight after losing to IMG 27-14 in the opener.
This weekend comes Don Bosco Prep, which is 2-1 but has won back-to-back games after losing to Archbishop Hogan 21-7 in its opener.
One of the state's top rivalries will get even more exciting as Bergen Catholic hosts Don Bosco on Friday, looking for its fifth win in the last six games between these two teams. There should be.
Last year, when these two teams faced off, Bergen Catholic won a 38-15 victory thanks to quarterback Dominic Campanile's three-point performance, and he will be a player to watch in this game as well.
Don Bosco will need strong play from quarterback Deven Sisler, who struggled in the team's Week 1 loss but played well in Week 3 with a three-touchdown performance.
Westside (SC) vs. Weddington (NC)
Another highlight game this week is the Carolinas' battle, with Westside playing Weddington this Monday, but the game has been rescheduled due to Hurricane Helen.
Westside is 4-0 this year, led by South Carolina quarterback Cutter Woods, who has already thrown for 1,049 yards and 13 points this season.
Weddington, on the other hand, has an impressive 5-0 record, most recently coming off a 56-0 road win over Chapel Hill.
Both teams can light up the scoreboard, and that could be the deciding factor in Monday's victory. Given home field advantage and the defensive effort to start the year, Wendenton could have the edge.
Please look forward to next week's high school selection competition.
