Susie Wiles Declares She Is Cancer-Free

On Wednesday, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles shared some personal news, revealing that she is now “cancer free” following her early-stage breast cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

Wiles expressed her gratitude, stating, “After a medical appointment at the Mayo Clinic this week, my pathology results came back clear. I am cancer free.” Notably, Wiles is the first woman to hold the Chief of Staff position.

She continued with heartfelt appreciation, saying, “Thank you to my family, friends, doctors, and everyone who prayed for me, checked in, and supported me along the way. A special thank you to President Trump for his unwavering support. I am deeply grateful and will continue to work to advance his America First Agenda.”

Earlier this year, President Donald Trump announced Wiles’ diagnosis, emphasizing her strength and character, calling her “one of the strongest people I know.” Despite her health struggles, Wiles maintained nearly a full-time presence in her role during her treatment.

Trump had noted at the time, “Susie Wiles is an incredible Chief of Staff, a great person, and one of the strongest people I know. She has decided to take on this challenge, IMMEDIATELY, as opposed to waiting.” He went on to express his happiness that she would remain at the White House throughout her treatment, praising her medical team and her positive prognosis.

Wiles shared with the New York Times that she had been diagnosed just a week prior to Trump’s announcement and was about to commence several weeks of treatment. She felt hopeful due to a “strong” prognosis.

“Nearly one in eight women in the United States will face this diagnosis,” she remarked. “Every day, these women continue to raise their families, go to work, and serve their communities with strength and determination. I now join their ranks.”

She expressed gratitude for her medical team for their early detection and care guidance, while also appreciating Trump’s support during her treatment and her ongoing duties.

The announcement of Wiles’ recovery was met with relief and celebration among Republicans and Trump administration officials. Harmeet Dhillon, assistant attorney general for the DOJ, exclaimed, “Thank God! Best news of the week!”

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) echoed the sentiment, remarking, “This is wonderful to hear. Susie has shown tremendous strength throughout this fight. Thank God for this good news, and continued prayers for Susie and her family.”

Alex Bruesewitz, a Trump advisor, also shared his excitement, stating, “Amazing news. God bless Susie Wiles.”

According to the CDC, around 270,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States each year.
