White House Responds to Ariana Grande’s Criticism
The White House responded on Thursday to Ariana Grande’s recent criticism of the Trump administration for using her song in a social media video related to immigration enforcement.
Press Secretary Abigail Jackson remarked, “What is truly barbaric, inhumane, and heinous are the criminal illegal aliens who have harmed and killed innocent American citizens.” This statement followed Grande’s condemnation of the administration’s use of her song “Bye” in a TikTok video, where she expressed her disapproval, stating, “Never use my music in connection with this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense.”
The video’s caption touted, “Goodbye. President Trump has created the most secure border in history.” As of Thursday morning, it seems that the audio has been removed from the clip.
Earlier in September, Grande had shared a post on Instagram discussing the impact of immigration policies, mentioning that “immigrants have been violently torn from their families and their communities have been destroyed.”
Grande, who participated in the Women’s March following Trump’s inauguration in 2017, has often voiced her concerns regarding various social issues. Last year, she shared a poignant protest sign that questioned the discrepancies between crimes leading to deportation versus those that seemingly lead to political power, referencing Trump’s legal issues from the prior year.
It’s worth noting that Grande has shown support for other political figures in the past, including backing Kamala Harris during the presidential campaign and performing for Barack Obama back in 2014.
As of now, Fox News Digital has reached out to Grande’s representative for further comment.
