Portsmouth relay runner Araira Everett last week at the Virginia Indoor Athletics Championship; She reportedly reportedly gave her concussion to her competitor, Karen Tucker of Lynchburg. In the mid-race of the baton as she slapped her in the back of her head. The blow was enough for Tucker to fall off the track and completely fall out of the race.
In a tearful interview with WSET-TV, Everett claimed the incident was an accident. “I can admit from the video, it seems to have a purpose, but I know my intentions, and I will never hit anyone intentionally,” she sobbed.
Despite this, her relay team has been disqualified for “contact interference.”
Now she claims to be a victim.

“It's hard to watch,” Jason said of the video capturing the incident.
“It's someone who doesn't want to be accountable for what she did.”
Everett probably wasn't raised in a Christian family where she was taught about the nature of her sin. Her claims are that when the tape clearly shows that the intention is evidence of this, it was an accident.
“The reason I don't engage in such behavior is because I know I can,” Jason says.
“There is a penalty to creating a secular culture away from the values of the Bible,” he explains.
“There's a demographic of Black Americans who think they follow Jesus Christ, but they're not. They follow feminism. They're chasing their emotions, so there's a reason why these types of videos keep popping up,” he adds, feeling that he's called to talk about this because he's part of the black community.
“If she was in the right heart and disciple of her parents who surrendered to Jesus Christ, they would have requested that her daughter go to TV. Sorry; what can I do to retaliate?”
