California Governor Gavin Newsom recently declared a state of emergency over bird flu. His “solution” is to give government agencies more money.
Newsom passed a proclamation to ensure agencies have the resources and flexibility they need to quickly respond to outbreaks.
“Bill Gates warned us, but strangely he knows when these things are going to happen.” glenn beck The Glenn Beck Program author pointed out to Liz Wheeler that a farmer in Louisiana was hospitalized with a respiratory illness related to H5N1 infection.
The CDC believes the patients were likely exposed to the virus from a backyard herd, which may be the first time such a herd has been linked to an avian influenza infection.
“We don't know who gave the farmer the flu, but Gavin Newsom is taking action,” Glenn said.
Wheeler, who was living in California at the time of the coronavirus outbreak, finds this situation all too familiar.
“I'm a survivor,” Wheeler tells Glenn. “We weren't allowed to go outside. I was sitting in a park on the hillside near my house, and when I say 'park,' it was just grass, not a playground. It's a hill that's overgrown. Then a police officer in an ATV approached me and said, “Ma'am.'' This park is closed. 'And I said, 'I'm just sitting here and there's no one around,' and he said, 'Well, social distancing rules from Gavin.' ”
Wheeler couldn't help but remind the officer that he was the only one violating social distancing rules.
“I pointed that out to him, and he didn't think it was as funny as I did,” Wheeler laughs. “But I couldn’t see you very well because I was wearing a mask.”
“Gavin Newsom is America's Justin Trudeau,” Glenn replied, adding, “That guy is a wannabe dictator.”
