Woman Allegedly Stabs Toddler To Death Outside Grocery Store

The mayor’s office in North Olmsted, Ohio, said a woman suspected of stabbing to death a 3-year-old boy outside a Great Eagle supermarket Monday afternoon.

The boy’s mother was also injured in what police said was a random attack. according to Tuesday press release from Mayor Nicole Daley Jones’ office.

North Olmsted Mayor Nicole Daly Jones released a statement Monday following the attack: “The North Olmsted Police Department responded swiftly and handled the situation in a very professional manner,” the statement read in part.

“As the mayor of North Olmsted and as a mother myself, I cannot imagine what this family must be going through. Losing your youngest child in such a violent and senseless way is truly heartbreaking,” Jones said in a statement obtained by Cleveland 19 News.
