A woman with a screwdriver lunged at a driver who rear-ended her, causing a fender bender on a Miami highway Monday, authorities said.
Video of the mysterious attack was captured by a Sky10 helicopter flying over the crash site, which occurred in the eastbound lanes of the MacArthur Causeway around 6 a.m.
A scantily clad woman was seen walking on the highway pointing a tool at two men who quickly backed away from her. The video shows:
She slowly raised her weapon over her head and ran towards them, appearing to pursue the older gentleman, but when she turned her attention to the younger man, he pulled her away from his partner.
The woman grabbed the younger man by the throat and made stabbing gestures, resulting in a scuffle that lasted several seconds before a third man dressed head-to-toe in blue managed to pull her away.
He apparently tried to calm her down and moved her away from the men, and she apparently yelled at him to stop attacking, but did not point the screwdriver at him.
Authorities have identified the crazy woman as 26-year-old Acklin Mbabazi Byamugisha, who was driving a black BMW when she was rear-ended by a white Toyota SUV.
Around 5:30 a.m., the sedan was stopped on the highway, partially blocking the right lane, when it was struck by an SUV.
Byamugisha and Toyota driver Freddy Diaz allegedly got into an argument that escalated into violence when Diaz’s father arrived at the scene.
According to the arrest report, Byamugisha told police that Diaz’s father showed up after the accident and was “very threatening, physically grabbing her and pulling her hair.”
That’s when she broke into his car, grabbed a screwdriver and a bottle of window cleaner, and sprayed both father and son in the face, police allege.
She has since been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
A check of her records revealed that she had been charged with three traffic violations in the past.
