Woman in NYC gains popularity for calling off date because of restaurant choice.

High Standards in the Dating World

There are no doubts in her mind.

Savannah Pagnozzi, known for her pickiness in Manhattan dating, made waves recently for skipping a first date at what she deemed a “boring” restaurant. This week, she spoke out, revealing that her online interactions have turned a bit chaotic with new suitors flooding her inbox.

“Honestly, the comments I get are mostly from guys who probably sit at home and can’t even afford a decent dinner,” Pagnozzi expressed, not holding back.

She’s received plenty of messages from men eager to take her out. “They often suggest great places. A lot of guys actually find it appealing that I have standards,” she noted.

At 29 and living in Hudson Yards, Pagnozzi shared on Instagram that she prefers potential partners to pick eateries with tablecloths and a price point she considers acceptable.

“The restaurant choice reveals a lot about a person, and I take that very seriously. If we can’t agree on where to eat, we probably won’t click in other aspects either,” she mentioned in her post.

This has indeed gained traction, amassing over 230,000 views. Men have chimed in with comments like, “So you’re still single?” and “I wouldn’t want to waste a good meal on you.” Some reactions were even more critical: “That audacity! She deserves McDonald’s,” one declared.

Pagnozzi, who is an influencer and comedian, matched with a finance professional through the upscale app Luxy, but he ultimately backed out.

“There were already issues with our communication before we even got to discussing where to eat. Once the restaurant topic came up, I figured, ‘Nope, this isn’t going to work,’” she said.

While she didn’t disclose the name of the place he chose, she hinted that it might have been a casual spot like The Smith on the Lower East Side.

“I wouldn’t want to show up to a date in jeans if that’s the vibe we’re going for,” Pagnozzi said.

“Dating should be fun… It should be somewhere with a nice atmosphere, something exciting. That just felt like an interview, not a date,” she added.

Reflecting on her dating experiences since moving from Arizona to New York in November, she emphasized her goal of finding a husband and not settling for anything less.

“Dating in New York is tough, so if you’re not serious, just step aside,” she asserted.

However, after her viral post, it seems she’s found some promising leads. Pagnozzi was pleasantly surprised by the number of men who reached out, suggesting impressive Manhattan restaurants.

“The options have been great—places like Avra, Beef Bar, and Mamo. I’ve accepted a few invitations, and I’m excited about finding my Mr. Right,” she concluded.
