Rescue from Olive Garden: Woman Escapes Troubling Situation

A woman was rescued from an Olive Garden in New Hampshire after her mother tracked her phone and alerted police that she was in danger. The mother’s concern led to a welfare check on Saturday, resulting in the arrest of 47-year-old Daniel Ouellette.

Reports indicate that when authorities arrived, the woman fled the restaurant visibly shaken and with injuries like cigarette burns on her legs, according to an affidavit.

In the documents, Ouellette suggested they were merely having dinner and that the woman was upset due to her mother’s alleged attempts to force him to join a cult in Pennsylvania.

However, the unnamed woman disclosed that a man had threatened her family a week earlier if she didn’t agree to meet him in New England.

Once there, Ouellette, who was carrying a handgun, allegedly demanded they go to City Hall for a marriage license, or he would “make her pay.”

According to the affidavit, he also confiscated their cellphones for several days and compelled them to drive at gunpoint, insisting that a “cult” was pursuing them.

Authorities report that Ouellette inflicted a cut on her hand with a box cutter as part of a purported satanic ritual before his arrest. They later found a copy of the Devil’s Bible in his vehicle.

Details about how the two know each other remain unclear.

Ouellette faces charges involving the use of a deadly weapon to prevent someone from reporting a crime. Newington Police Chief Michael Bilodeau mentioned that further charges are expected in Lee, where the forced marriage allegedly occurred.

The suspect has a background of drunk driving and domestic violence but has denied the allegations in court. He claimed, “I’m not a physical person,” and argued that forcing someone to marry him contradicts his beliefs of free will.

He is currently held in jail on preventive detention while the woman has been granted an order of protection.
