Working-Class Sees Through the Pretend: Megyn Kelly Claims Low-Income Voters Don’t Trust Mamdani’s Claims

Megyn Kelly Critiques New York Mayor-Elect Zoran Mamdani

On “The Megyn Kelly Show,” host Megyn Kelly expressed that working-class voters hold a negative view of Democratic New York Mayor-elect Zoran Mamdani, perceiving him as insincere.

In a recent election, Independent candidate Andrew Cuomo secured 48% of the vote from New Yorkers earning below $30,000, while Mamdani garnered only 42%, as reported by CNN’s exit polls. Kelly pointed out how Mamdani, during his victory speech, praised immigrants and claimed he would advocate for working-class issues.

Kelly noted with a hint of frustration, “In his speech, he thanked every immigrant out there: the Senegalese, the hot dog vendor, the Nepalese cab driver. Those are the people he considers his constituents. Yet, he’s also discussing the needs of hard-working individuals—the ones who actually voted against him. The working class knows they can’t afford your empty promises.”

She emphasized that many in the working class struggle to meet basic needs, worried about food security and their children’s education. “They can’t afford to worry about trivial matters. They didn’t vote for you; they see through your facade. You’re just a wolf in sheep’s clothing,” she asserted.

On “American Report,” Fox Business host Charles Payne also commented, suggesting that Mamdani’s supporters are not genuinely representative of the working class but rather young elites who expected high-paying jobs immediately after graduating. He remarked, “This election reflected the sentiments of the entitled elite, not the struggling masses. Poor individuals, trying to make ends meet, overwhelmingly chose Cuomo.”

Mamdani, after winning the election, reportedly shouted for over twenty minutes, drawing criticism from CNN’s Van Jones. Jones remarked on the dramatic shift in Mamdani’s demeanor, suggesting it diverged from the warm persona he’s shown in previous public appearances. “He missed a chance to connect more authentically, and that might have consequences for him in the future,” he noted.

The newly elected mayor has an ambitious agenda, which includes raising taxes on businesses and wealthy individuals, implementing a rent freeze, providing free bus services, establishing city-operated grocery stores, and offering free child care.

In a prior discussion, the late Charlie Kirk mentioned “luxury beliefs,” a mindset among elites that often overlooks the challenges faced by average Americans. He pointed out that many supporters of extreme left policies tend to be students or recent graduates from prestigious universities.
