World Liberty Financial to put money into Trump meme coin after crypto wallet disagreement

World Liberty Financial, a crypto initiative started by President Trump and his sons, is looking to invest in the president’s meme coin. It seems they’re addressing a conflict that arose between two crypto entities associated with the Trump family.

On Friday, Eric Trump, who co-manages World Liberty Financial with Donald Trump Jr., shared that the $Trump Token will align with their company, and they will not pursue the crypto wallet that had been a contentious issue.

“Their meme wallets aren’t going forward, but they’re still dedicated to creating the most exciting memes out there – $Trump,” Eric Trump mentioned in a post on X.

He also expressed pride in the announcement that the Global Free Finance Plan will take a significant stake in $Trump for the Long-Term Department. “We envision a larger concept of cryptography, patriotism, and lasting success,” he added.

The team behind Meme Coin initially stated on Tuesday that they would launch a crypto wallet in partnership with Magic Eden, a non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace.

This announcement led to some confusion as the president’s sons denied any involvement in the venture.

“The Trump organization is not involved in this wallet product at all. @erictrump and I are unaware of it,” Donald Trump Jr. wrote on X, implying another world of Liberty Financial Wallets.

Eric Trump further clarified, “This project hasn’t been approved by @Trump. I’m cautious about our name being associated with something not sanctioned and unknown to anyone in our organization.”

According to Bloomberg, World Liberty Financial reportedly issued a cease-and-desist letter to both Magic Eden and the team behind $Trump.

Nevertheless, the two companies seem to have settled their differences as of Friday.

“Trump memes and WLFIs can occupy different lanes, but we share the same highways. The same values, the same mission—amplifying America’s strength through innovation,” stated World Liberty Financial in a post.

President Trump introduced Memecoin shortly before taking office and hosted a notable dinner with key investors last month. His family’s growing role in the crypto industry is drawing scrutiny as his administration looks to finalize regulations on digital assets.
