“[Putin] You will die soon, and that is true and everything will end. This may end before that… I'm younger than Putin, so please make your bet on me. Zelensky said in an interview Wednesday.
Throughout the interview, Zelensky “stays strong” in the United States and avoid succumbing to Putin's demands as peace denial continues.
“It is very important that America does not help Putin escape this global isolation,” Zelensky argued. “I think this is dangerous. It's one of the most dangerous moments.”
Zelensky also pointed out that the US hopes not to lift sanctions against Russia for conditional peace.
“If they push Putin, he will face destabilization in his society and be afraid of it,” Zelensky added.
But Putin escalated hostilities on Friday by issuing strict orders to “finish” Ukrainian troops following a previously ordered strike at Ukrainian energy facilities.
Before news on Friday, the White House said on Tuesday that the currently broken “partial” ceasefire contracts could “help to access the global market for exporting agricultural and fertilizers in Russia, reduce maritime insurance costs, and enhance access to ports and payment systems for such transactions.
Rumors have emerged that some people claim that Putin, who is said to be “declining” in the course of the war, is struggling behind the scenes. Some insiders claim Putin is suffering from Parkinson's disease, while others theorize that he has cancer. Nevertheless, there was no concrete evidence to support any of these claims.
Zelensky chose not to discuss Putin's health any further after his “destabilizing” remarks, but he was not working on the broken Black Sea ceasefire deal. Meanwhile, the Russian defense ministry accused Ukraine of breaking the ceasefire first, claiming that Ukrainian drones attacked the electric facilities along with the power grid facilities on Tuesday.
The attack on energy infrastructure was supposed to be off the table of the peace agreement.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has denied the allegations, but declared that the Ukrainian government is “doing everything to derail Russia-US agreements on a progressive settlement.”
“They have been attacking our energy sites with bombs, attack drones and FPV drones,” said Dmytro Lytvyn, communications advisor in Ukraine. “We don't go into all the details, but we already have eight confirmed hits on energy facilities. Every night, air defense forces fire down nearly 100 attack drones. Many of these drones may be targeting other energy facilities.”
Additionally, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the Trump administration is currently assessing the conditions Russia introduced after Moscow had previously agreed to a Black Sea ceasefire in principle.
