Rep. Byron Donald Calls for Testimony on Biden’s Health
Rep. Byron Donald (R-FL) is pushing for members of the Biden administration to be called in to testify regarding former President Joe Biden’s health. This follows a deposition where Anthony Bernal, who served as Chief of Staff to Jill Biden, invoked the Fifth Amendment.
According to committee chair James Comer (R-KY), Bernal pleaded the Fifth during questioning, particularly when asked if he had been instructed to misrepresent Biden’s health.
Donald criticized this, suggesting it reflects deeper issues within the administration. He stated, “If you can’t answer simple questions about Joe Biden’s capabilities, it raises doubts about who is really in charge. If Biden is unable to perform his duties, then anything he signed—or anything processed through an autopen—should be considered null and void.”
As he campaigns for the Florida governorship, Donald implied that Vice President Kamala Harris might also be involved in the concerns over Biden’s health.
“Where was Kamala Harris during all this?” he questioned. “All members of the Biden administration should be summoned, regardless of their position. They need to answer these questions.”
He further remarked, “Harris’s chief of staff, Anthony Bernal, is closely tied to her. If Bernal isn’t willing to testify, then Harris needs to come forward and share what she knows about Biden’s mental health.”
Donald emphasized that while families naturally want to protect their loved ones, Harris and others must clarify Biden’s mental fitness to the American public.
Amid this, surveys indicate that many U.S. adults believe Democrats have made efforts to obscure the truth about Biden’s health during his presidency.
This situation contrasts with a recent health update regarding former President Donald Trump, who was reported to have a “benign and common condition” called chronic venous insufficiency. That disclosure was framed as part of Trump’s efforts for transparency.
