Blue Bell Ice Cream Issues Recall Due to Undeclared Nuts

Blue Bell Ice Cream has announced a recall of certain half-gallon cartons after discovering an issue with undeclared nuts. This recall, affecting a limited quantity of “Moo-llennium Crunch Ice Cream” packaged in chocolate chip cookie dough cartons produced in Brenham, Texas, was made public on Friday.

Employees found that the affected products had been mistakenly packaged with Moo-llennium Crunch lids instead of the correct ones. This is particularly concerning for individuals who are allergic or highly sensitive to almonds, walnuts, and pecans, as they could face severe or even life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products.

The mix-up came to light when employees were restocking the ice cream at retailers. The half-gallon lids have a code labeled 061027524 on top.

Blue Bell also clarified that the affected products were shipped to various states, including Arkansas, Alabama, parts of Georgia, Indiana, and several others like Louisiana and Texas, among others.

Customers who bought the half gallons can return them to the store for a complete refund. Thankfully, Blue Bell reports that no illnesses or adverse effects have been linked to this recall so far.
