Trump Calls for Legal Action Against Soros
Former President Donald Trump has urged that George Soros, along with his son Alex Soros, be prosecuted under the RICO Act for allegedly funding violent protests in the U.S.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump accused Soros and what he described as “his psychopath group” of inflicting “great damage” on the nation, asserting that his administration “will not permit these madmen to tear America apart.”
“George Soros and his incredible radical son should face charges under RICO for supporting violent protests and more,” Trump stated. “We’re not going to let these madmen dismantle America. We give them nothing more than a chance to ‘breathe’ and be free.”
The Department of Justice explains on its website that the Organized Crime Control Act of 1970, which includes Title IX regarding corrupt organizations, aims to mitigate the effects of organized crime on legal entities.
The site details:
On October 15, 1970, the Organized Crime Control Act was enacted. Title IX of this Act is often known as the RICO Act. Its goal is to “eliminate the intrusion of organized crime and prevent attacks on legitimate organizations operating across state lines.” However, the law is broad enough to cover illegal activities that affect interstate or foreign commerce.
According to Breitbart News, the Open Society Foundation, led by George and Alex Soros, allegedly partially funded a rally on behalf of individuals connected to the MS-13 gang. Reports indicated that the Open Society Foundation has contributed millions to the group Casa, which advocates for extensive immigration reforms.
John Binder from Breitbart News reported:
As ICE agents sought to detain Abrego Garcia, CASA held a rally supporting smugglers accused of associations with the MS-13 gang, alongside other allegations of domestic violence. Lydia Walther Rodriguez translated at this assembly.
Breitbart has previously noted that Soros’ foundation has invested millions in CASA over several years to promote mass immigration policies. In 2023, they awarded CASA a grant of $250,000 and an additional $1.6 million to the group’s Political Action Committee.
Furthermore, another organization focused on “human rights,” which had previously sued the Trump administration on behalf of undocumented immigrants facing deportation orders, has been reported to have financial connections to Soros’ network. From 2016 to 2021, Soros’ Open Society Foundation allegedly contributed nearly $6.2 million in support of these human rights efforts.
Since 2016, donations exceeding $15 million from Soros have reportedly gone to organizations connected with protests against Israel, particularly following the October 7, 2023, attacks. The New York Post reported on this in October 2023.
Additionally, reports indicated that Soros’ Open Society Foundation funneled $13.7 million through the Tides Center, which reportedly sponsored various nonprofits that justified its actions. The Tides Center had also contributed $30,000 in 2020 to the group organizing anti-Israel protests in Bryant Park, New York City.
