Trump Posts Meme Featuring Cracker Barrel Logo
President Donald Trump shared a meme showcasing the Cracker Barrel logo, depicting him alongside Uncle Herschel, who is a relative of Dan Evins, the founder of the restaurant chain.
In a message on True Society, Trump posted images of himself seated in a chair. The logo features the phrase “America First,” displayed in brown on a yellow backdrop, accompanied by the words “America is back.”
According to Cracker Barrel’s website, Uncle Herschel is not only a symbolic figure for the restaurant but also played a key role in shaping its core values. The site claims, “Uncle Herschel had a wealth of knowledge about what a rural American store really looked like.” He worked as a salesman for the Martha White Flower Company for over three decades, traveling through the Southern countryside and visiting various general stores. Much like today’s cracker barrels, these community stores served as more than mere shopping venues.
Trump’s meme comes on the heels of the Tennessee-based restaurant’s announcement that it would be retiring a new logo that faced criticism, reverting to its original branding.
The restaurant chain expressed gratitude to its patrons in a message on X: “We would like to thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel. We promised to listen, and we have. Our new logo will go away, and the ‘old timer’ will remain.”
Hours later, Trump extended his congratulations following the restaurant’s decision to revert to its previous logo. He noted that the decision reflected their acknowledgment of customer feedback, stating, “All the fans are very grateful. Good luck for the future. Earn lots of money and, most importantly, make our customers happy again!”
Users on social media have criticized the new logo—featuring just the brown “Cracker Barrel” text on a yellow field without Uncle Herschel—calling it a “soulless brand.”
