Former MSNBC host Joy Reid expressed uncertainty about the injuries sustained by President Donald Trump during a Pennsylvania rally last year, suggesting it might have been a “suspected” attack.
In a recent appearance on a YouTube channel hosted by her former colleague Katie Phang, Reid scrutinized the media’s approach to covering Trump’s health. She pointed out that there seems to be hesitation even in addressing his past assassination attempts while he was a candidate.
“He has these miraculous doctors who insisted he was shot in the ear, but honestly, his ears look like they’ve grown,” she remarked, adding that one moment he had bandages and the next, they were gone. “We can’t access medical records about this alleged assassination. It looks like he’s been shot, yet we know nothing,” she continued.
Reid emphasized that there appears to be an investigation missing. “One day he’s wearing a bandage; the next, he’s perfectly fine,” she noted. “It’s bizarre!”
Reflecting on her time in mainstream media, Reid mentioned that it often led to difficulties for her. She claimed she knows more about earlier attempted political assassinations, specifically those involving Gerald Ford and William McKinley, than current events surrounding Trump.
“We’re getting nothing. The mainstream media isn’t even asking for his medical records. They seem intimidated by him,” Reid expressed.
After the shooting incident, she raised questions about Trump’s injuries, implying they might have been caused by something other than a bullet, like glass.
Reid also questioned the absence of a medical report regarding what actually happened to Trump. “What exactly caused his injuries? Was it glass? A bullet? What were those three individuals doing around him? Why was he focused on his shoes when there might have been another shooter nearby, celebrating for nearly ten seconds?” she wrote in a post regarding the event.
“How on earth did the shooter access the roof of a building with police present?” she added, seeking clarity on the unfolding situation.
