Elementary school teacher in NJ resigns and complains after making harsh remark about Charlie Kirk's assassination

A primary school teacher in New Jersey has stepped down following her controversial comments about the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

Elizabeth Clark, who taught fifth-grade math at Katherine D. Malone Elementary in Morris County, made her resignation official during a meeting of the Rockaway Township Board of Education this week.

On September 10, shortly after the conservative activist was shot, she posted, “Some people must die – bye bye,” on Facebook. This comment drew significant scrutiny and anger from the local community.

Residents expressed their concern, with one stating, “Public assassinations and celebrating them are harmful to children,” during the board meeting.

The school board confirmed that Clark resigned during a private session of the meeting.

Charlie Kirk, the co-founder of Turning Point USA and a father of two, was killed while interacting with attendees at Utah Valley University. Tyler Robinson, the suspected shooter, faces first-degree murder charges.

In a subsequent interview, Clark claimed she was put on administrative leave the day after her post, expressing fear for her safety and stating that she felt like she was being “doxxed” online.

She told a news outlet, “I resigned because I was afraid of my safety. Being at school might have raised safety concerns for the kids.” She added, “I didn’t feel that Rockaway could protect me and keep me safe.”

Attempts to contact Clark for more comments were unsuccessful.
