Trump’s Message of Strength Resonates in Kosovo
The president of Kosovo shared on Tuesday that the echoes of President Donald Trump’s “peace through strength” philosophy are already being felt across Europe.
“President Trump, as always, is a leader who speaks with clarity and conviction. As he addresses the United Nations today, we anticipate a powerful message of peace stemming from a strong foundation,” she remarked.
This European leader, who views her nation as a committed U.S. ally, expressed that Trump’s efforts have been crucial in averting conflicts and wars in the region.
Back in June, Trump highlighted a successful peace deal that involved Kosovo and Serbia, among others. Osmani noted that the region has experienced numerous “flare-ups” in recent years, but with the support of NATO allies and the Trump administration, they managed to maintain some stability.
“In September 2023, we faced an attack from Serbia, yet we successfully countered it with our NATO allies’ backing. However, the threat persists,” she explained.
Osmani mentioned that there was yet another attempt at provocation this past May. “This administration has effectively prevented these escalations,” she said.
The tensions between Kosovo and Serbia have a long history, particularly since Kosovo declared independence in 2008, which Serbia does not acknowledge. Osmani emphasized that “prevention and deterrence” are essential for maintaining peace in the region. She reflected on how generations witnessed conflict and expressed hope that the new generation can finally experience peace.
“Every generation of children in our country faced the horrors of war,” she continued. “Now, our kids can finally rest without the lingering sounds of gunfire or the fear of growing up amidst violence, thanks to American leadership.”
Osmani expressed her desire to continue leaning on Trump’s “peace through strength” approach to ensure lasting stability.
