Brutal Concert Attack Captured on Video
A disturbing video has surfaced, showing an elderly worker at a Kansas City concert venue being attacked. The incident involved a barrage of punches to the worker’s face and head.
This assault occurred during a rap concert featuring NBA Youngboy at the T-Mobile Center on Sunday. Local police have identified the suspect as being under the age of 16.
Officer Arena Gonzalez from the Kansas City Police Department stated that a juvenile has been taken into custody but was subsequently released to a guardian, as the investigation continues. Authorities are collaborating with prosecutors to determine the potential charges against the suspect.
Reports indicate the attacker also targeted security personnel who attempted to escort him out of the venue.
Shani Tate Ross, a representative for the T-Mobile Center, informed that the assaulted staff member experienced severe injuries. Paramedics provided immediate assistance on-site, and the individual was later hospitalized for further treatment.
In the video, 66-year-old Thomas Schlange, the victim, struggles to defend himself against the much younger aggressor. It’s evident he’s outmatched, as he finds himself cornered between rows of seats while the teen unleashes a series of punches. Fortunately, another bystander intervenes to separate them.
Schlange shared with local media, “I fell and hit my head,” expressing a surge of anger at the situation. “I wanted to protect the fans,” he remarked about his instinctive response during the chaos.
Witnesses to the event, including local pastor Robert McDaniel, stated that the assault ignited after the suspect was informed that his ticket did not correspond with his assigned seat.
McDaniel emphasized a troubling trend in today’s society, mentioning that “there’s something happening in his mind that needs to be fixed.” He believes young individuals should learn to manage their emotions better to avoid such outbursts.
After many years on the job, Schlange lamented, “People need to learn how to control themselves as they mature.”
The Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas’s office assured that the T-Mobile Center will cooperate with law enforcement and the prosecution to ensure that justice is served regarding the incident.
In media coverage, it was noted that Schlange is expected to meet with Kansas City Police on Friday, and additionally, the United Center in Chicago has canceled an upcoming NBA Youngboy concert following the incident.
The response from the public has been intense, with many expressing outrage over the violent act. Comments have ranged from hopes that the attacker faces serious legal consequences to general dismay over societal issues surrounding youth behavior.
