JD Vance ridicules Joy Reid's 'affirmative action' criticism with a meme

Vice President JD Vance responded to former MSNBC host Joy Reid’s recent comments questioning his qualifications. Reid, who left MSNBC earlier this year, discussed Vance during an interview with ex-CNN anchor Don Lemon.

In her remarks, Reid expressed disappointment regarding Charlie Kirk’s comments and criticized Vance’s perspectives on positive behavior—as it relates to women like herself, Michelle Obama, and others. She stated that this notion seemed to benefit “mortal” white men, implicitly including Vance.

Reid labeled the promotion of “mediocre white people,” like Vance, as an unfair dynamic. She emphasized that his admission to Yale was, in her view, an example of how elite opportunities often favor certain demographics over others.

She has been known for her strong critiques of white men and has even previously dubbed Elvis Presley as a “mediocre white man.” During her conversation with Lemon, she argued for diversity initiatives that include individuals from various backgrounds, stating that they often don’t get the recognition they deserve.

Reid mentioned her own experiences with privilege in this context, suggesting that her right-wing critics should recognize her contributions to public discourse.

In reaction to a clip of the conversation, Vance shared posts of Reid’s comments, seemingly mocking her rhetoric. His supporters joined in, contributing their own humor to the discussion.
