Brian Daboll has developed quite the admiration for a certain player. After Jackson Dart’s rushing touchdown in his first NFL start, the Giants coach couldn’t contain his excitement, exclaiming, “It’s our F-King Guy,” following the team’s win over the Chargers.
Daboll celebrated, fist pumping as Dart’s 15-yard run gave the Giants a crucial 7-point lead in their 21-18 victory. The team is eager to find a quarterback with potential, and how Dart performs could greatly influence Daboll and general manager Joe Shane’s prospects in East Rutherford.
Shane brought in the former Ole Miss star with hopes of boosting their position ahead of the 2025 draft amidst ongoing uncertainties regarding their futures in the organization.
The Giants’ season started off rocky, as Russell Wilson led the team to an 0-3 record, featuring two poor outings and one notable performance against the Cowboys.
With fans rallying support, the coaching staff is now turning to Dart, hoping he can spark improvements for the team.
Dart demonstrated promise by successfully navigating against a previously undefeated Chargers team, despite dealing with the loss of Malik Neighbors to a season-ending injury. He completed all 13 of his passes for 111 yards and a touchdown, alongside 54 rushing yards and another score against one of the league’s top defenses.
Post-game footage showed Daboll embracing Dart on the field, expressing heartfelt encouragement, and presenting him with a game ball in the locker room.
“That’s a great F-King job,” Daboll acknowledged to his team. Dart reciprocated with an inspiring message, emphasizing the expectation of victory with every game they play while acknowledging the offensive challenges they faced.
As the Giants prepare to face the Saints in New Orleans, they’re looking to secure back-to-back wins, although they are currently two-point underdogs according to BETMGN.
