Shedeur Sanders adopts a strange silent act after Browns change their quarterback

Shedeur Sanders certainly knows how to capture attention with his words.

The Cleveland Browns made an announcement on Wednesday stating they would bench veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, opting to start rookie Dillon Gabriel, who was picked in the third round, for their upcoming game against the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday.

In this reshuffle, Sanders maintains his position as No. 3 on the depth chart, while Flacco takes on the role of Gabriel’s backup.

When questioned about the shift in the quarterback lineup and his steady spot within the team, Sanders responded humorously, even mimicking a suggestion with a smile.

Last week, the Colorado product stirred some controversy when he told ESPN Cleveland he was “ready to play now” and believed he could “do better.”

These remarks caught the attention of Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, who addressed the media prior to Cleveland’s match against the Detroit Lions in Week 4.

“Yeah, he’s doing a good job. I think everyone should feel prepared and is working hard,” Stefanski stated to reporters. “We put in considerable effort with our players, whether they are rookies or veterans, to ensure they are physically and mentally ready—whether in the weight room, meeting room, or on the field.”

Despite not offering a direct answer on Wednesday, Sanders recently expressed appreciation for his situation in Cleveland and his role as QB3.

“It’s exciting to compete every day,” Sanders shared. “I’m grateful for the opportunity. It allows me to see the game from a different angle, helping me grow mentally, physically, and emotionally.”

Looking ahead, Sanders seems eager for the future, emphasizing his excitement about where he stands in his career.

As part of the NFL’s initiative to expand internationally, the Browns (1-3) will play against the Vikings (2-2) at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, with the game set to kick off at 9:30 AM on Sunday.
