Teen drives stolen car over 100 mph with child on board in Arizona accident

Recent reports indicate an 11-year-old passenger was involved in a serious car crash in Arizona, which was triggered by a drunken teenager who was driving a stolen vehicle. The incident took place on Tuesday when police received information about a reckless driver on I-40.

It seems the driver lost control, crossing the median and speeding past other vehicles at over 100 mph. This white Chevrolet Silverado had earlier been reported stolen from the Flagstaff Police Department. The chaos culminated in the vehicle flipping multiple times and colliding with a tree.

The driver, who is just 13 years old, apparently hit an 8-year-old boy riding a bicycle at the scene and then fled after checking to see if the child was hurt.

Witness reports describe the crash as extremely violent, leading to debris being scattered over a wide area, including the truck’s steering wheel, which ended up 50 feet away from the wreck.

Both the teenage driver and their young passenger were hospitalized but fortunately sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities confirmed that the girl exhibited clear signs of intoxication.

Blood tests later revealed that her blood alcohol content was more than double the legal limit for adults, which is particularly alarming given Arizona’s strict zero-tolerance policy for underage drivers.

Photos shared by officials show the truck wreckage, with extensive damage evident—its roof caved in and the front end twisted badly. The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) took to social media to express gratitude that the children survived the ordeal, emphasizing the dangers of underage drinking and DUI.

DPS noted that additional charges, including DUI, reckless driving, and vehicle theft, are likely forthcoming for the young driver.
