Ian Andre Roberts, the school leader for illegal migrants, exposed for a web of deceit

This week, the district leader who was arrested by ICE has been found to have fabricated information about his education at MIT, among other details. He has also faced two lawsuits concerning sex discrimination.

Ian Andre Roberts, 51, was dismissed from his role at Des Moines Public Schools and was allegedly working unlawfully while evading an expulsion order.

Roberts has had a varied career in the education sector spanning over twenty years, taking on significant roles across different states. However, his tenure has sparked controversy.

A former colleague remarked, “He was charming and friendly, but the sense of inclusivity he projected was largely an illusion.”

Recently, Roberts was arrested on September 26 after a failed attempt to escape law enforcement, ultimately found hiding in some brush. Reports suggest he was sought on a previous weapons violation charge.

In his earlier position as a supervisor in Pennsylvania, rumors circulated about inappropriate relationships with female staff on school grounds, which he held from 2020 to 2023.

A colleague described him as “sketchy” and a habitual liar, suggesting he was hired more for his perceived commitment to diversity and less for his actual performance.

It appears Roberts is not allowed to work legally in the U.S., as his employment authorization expired back in 2020.

During the time of his arrest, he was driving a school-owned vehicle that contained various dangerous items, including a loaded handgun and a significant amount of cash.

Roberts claimed he earned degrees from prestigious institutions like Harvard and Georgetown; however, those schools have not confirmed his attendance. He had also falsely claimed a Ph.D. from Morgan State University.

His tenure as director of Mill Creek School in Pennsylvania coincided with a slew of lawsuits against the district, amounting to over $400,000 in payouts related to gender discrimination claims.

Reportedly, Roberts left Mill Creek amid claims of misconduct and inappropriate relationships. Some community members expressed concerns over the legitimacy of his credentials and leadership style.

While he held his role in Des Moines, allegations surfaced that highlighted a lack of genuine engagement with the district’s needs.

On a more personal note, previous colleagues mentioned that he often spoke of a wife, though many had never met her and suspected this might be another fabrication.

As of now, Roberts is in custody awaiting deportation processes, having officially resigned while under arrest. The district stoutly maintains that all hiring practices were lawful and transparent.

Intriguingly, Roberts advocated for certain political positions while previously in Pennsylvania, further complicating his profile. His educational history traces back to his native Guyana and includes participation in the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Yet, now his future seems uncertain, perhaps to return to his homeland sooner than he intended.
