Jets Struggle Again Against Cowboys

The New York Jets had another disappointing showing on Sunday, failing to rally their fans with a lackluster performance.

In a matchup against the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the Jets lost 37-22. However, the score doesn’t fully reflect how the Jets played during the game.

They controlled the ball for more than 34 minutes, managing 25 first downs across 12 drives. They even converted 7 of 16 third downs. Yet, key plays from Dak Prescott and the Cowboys ultimately led to the Jets’ downfall.

During the second quarter, Prescott threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Jake Ferguson, putting the Cowboys ahead at 10-3. Later, in the third quarter, Prescott connected with George Pickens for a 43-yard touchdown, extending the lead to 30-3.

Social media was abuzz after Pickens scored, reflecting the frustration of Jets fans.

Prescott completed 18 of 29 passes for 237 yards and four touchdown throws. Additionally, running back Javonte Williams rushed for 135 yards and caught a 4-yard touchdown pass.

Ryan Fullnoy stood out for the Cowboys, catching six passes for 114 yards, and Ferguson secured two touchdown receptions.

While New York managed to score 16 points in the fourth quarter, it wasn’t enough to mount a comeback.

Brace Hall led the Jets with 113 rushing yards, and Justin Fields threw two touchdown passes, but he also faced pressure, getting sacked five times.

This marks the Jets’ first 0-5 start since the 2020 season. Back then, under coach Adam Gase, they finished with a dismal 2-14 record, leading to Gase’s dismissal and the hiring of Robert Saleh as head coach.

After Saleh was let go mid-season in 2024, Glenn took over, hoping to shift the team’s trajectory. They had a decent start in week one against the Pittsburgh Steelers but have only gotten worse since.

In week six, the Jets will face the Denver Broncos at MetLife Stadium, who recently clinched a win against the Philadelphia Eagles.
