Sheriff's officers reconnect with elderly dancing 'ladies man' they helped after a heart attack at a community senior picnic

A senior from Long Island, who had just been dancing, met up again on Tuesday with the Suffolk County heroes who saved him after he suffered a heart attack a month earlier.

Lenny Musillo, 73, known as “Ladies’ Man,” went into cardiac arrest shortly after enjoying some dance time with two women at the Brookhaven Senior Picnic. Thankfully, a Suffolk County sheriff’s deputy and two corrections officers performed CPR on him for 10 minutes until an ambulance arrived.

“Most people don’t get the chance to meet their lifesavers,” Musillo remarked as he connected with Sheriff Erol Toulon and the team that had come to visit him and his family at home.

“They’re like angels on earth,” shared Musillo’s sister, Diane Summerfold, as she embraced the officers who had rescued her brother: Deputy Dylan Heber and correctional officers Sean Higgins and Travis Jacobone.

Jokingly, Summerfold noted that perhaps the two women dancing with Lenny might have had their hearts stop too. Miraculously, despite undergoing an emergency quadruple bypass, Musillo was back on his feet and walking within a few days.

“This is nothing short of a miracle,” she said, noting that doctors had cleared him after removing the blocked artery, giving him the green light to dance again.

Musillo expressed that he felt “great” after the surgery and extended his gratitude to the officers for saving his life.

Poking fun at the situation, Musillo quipped about having a wedding when reporters and responders gathered at his home.

Officer Higgins was the first responder who began chest compressions as he sat at the picnic. His quick action, along with the help of Jacobone and Heber, was crucial during the emergency. They rushed to Muzzillo’s aid, working hard to revive him.

Heber shared her feelings about the experience, saying, “I’ve done CPR so many times, but this is the first time I’ve actually revived someone. It’s indescribable.”

Lenny mentioned feeling confused upon waking up, initially unaware that he had lost consciousness.
