Florida Man Charged with Double Murder Captured on Video

A man in Florida is facing two counts of murder after a cellphone recording allegedly captured the entire incident, according to reports.

Louis Jules, 59, was taken into custody on Friday morning, just hours after footage of the shooting was found on the phone of one of the victims, two individuals discovered hanging from a pickup truck in Tampa.

The video, recorded by an unidentified 40-year-old woman, shows Jules near the back seat of the truck, holding keys and a drink before gunfire is heard. The details, as reported in an affidavit, describe how the woman recorded the moments leading up to the shooting.

As the video reveals, the unnamed 37-year-old male driver’s agitation escalated when Jules started searching inside the vehicle and shouted, “Hey, you can’t get in my car.”

Witnesses allege that Jules then tossed the contents of his drink at the driver while simultaneously reaching for a semi-automatic weapon.

According to the affidavit, “The video shows the defendant aiming the gun toward where the male victim was later discovered, with the slide pointed backward.”

Terrifying screams from the woman were captured as her companion was shot.

Attempts to escape proved futile for the woman, as she was also shot multiple times while trying to exit from the passenger side of the truck.

Video evidence also reportedly showed Jules shutting the car door after the shootings, then leaving the scene. A neighbor later recognized him from the footage, leading police to his friend’s house, where they witnessed him discard a black semi-automatic handgun.

The affidavit reveals that Jules confessed to officers that the altercation began because the victims “owed him money,” and he was “very angry.” He now faces charges for two counts of first-degree murder and one count of tampering with evidence, as reported.
