Kathy Griffin Rants Against Trump and Promotes “No Kings” Protests
Comedian Kathy Griffin recently delivered an impassioned 10-minute speech urging attendance at this weekend’s left-leaning “No Kings” protests, labeling President Donald Trump a “dictator” who “didn’t win a free and fair election.”
“I’ll be turning 65 on November 4th, so trust me when I say this country has never seen anything this awful in our lifetimes,” Griffin expressed. “Our current so-called president is a fascist,” she argued, drawing parallels to former President Richard Nixon.
“If you don’t recognize what that means, then maybe you’re an authoritarian or a dictator,” she added. “That’s not something anyone wants. It strips away your choices.”
Shifting gears, Griffin fiercely criticized Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), denouncing their operations as “abductions.” Actor Dean Cain has also made comments about the upcoming protests, warning that the federal government might deploy its officers “in full force.”
“There will be arrests, and we’ll have to see what happens after because folks are calling this protest No King Day, since President Trump seems to think he’s the king. But he’s not, and frankly, he’s hardly the president,” Griffin stated, before delving into comments about election denialism. “Honestly, I feel a bit embarrassed saying this, but I don’t believe he won a free and fair election. You heard me right. I’m saying it out loud. I don’t care if it makes me look unhinged.”
She went so far as to call Elon Musk a “professional Nazi,” and argued that the act of paying people to vote is why Trump defeated Kamala Harris. “The fact that Trump somehow won all seven battleground states—something that’s never happened in U.S. history—is really quite suspicious to me.”
Last week, actor Robert De Niro also threw his support behind the “No Kings” protests.
“I’m Robert De Niro, and I’m calling on you to stand up and join us for the national No Kings protests on October 18th,” he said. “To find, volunteer, or organize a protest in your area, check out nokings.org. We’re all in this together, fighting for freedom and justice for everyone.”
