Billionaire Donors Fund Trump’s $300 Million Ballroom
WASHINGTON — According to White House officials, a group of billionaire donors and major corporations is financing President Trump’s ambitious $300 million ballroom project.
The expansive 90,000-square-foot Great Hall will be situated at the north end of the east wing of the executive mansion, largely due to substantial donations from companies such as Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Google, and Meta.
Additionally, cryptocurrency firms like Coinbase and Gemini, as well as notable Republican supporters including the Winklevoss twins and Miriam Adelson, are contributing. Even Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and his family are part of the funding effort.
Trump expressed his vision for the ballroom to reflect the opulent style of the Mar-a-Lago Club’s dining area, aiming to accommodate foreign dignitaries for state dinners and other significant events. He remarked, “We’re going to build a phenomenal ballroom. It’s going to be the best anywhere in the world. In fact, there won’t be anything quite like it,” during a recent gathering with donors.
He noted that the structure will feature beautiful glass on all four sides, complemented by striking window designs befitting the White House. It’s projected to host around 900 guests, which is a significant increase from the old East Room that could only seat about 200.
Initially, Trump estimated the construction costs at roughly $200 million to $250 million, but White House representatives clarified that taxpayers wouldn’t bear the burden of these expenses.
President Trump confirmed this new ballroom will be “near” the East Wing, although he stated he wouldn’t alter the existing structure.
Following this project, plans include erecting 100-foot-tall flagpoles on the northern and southern lawns. Moreover, the historic Rose Garden has been transformed into an outdoor patio, currently serving as a venue for key discussions with officials and lawmakers.
A “Presidential Walk of Fame” has also been established in the west wing colonnade, featuring an autopen photo of former President Joe Biden.
