Kim Kardashian Attributes Law Exam Failures to ChatGPT
Kim Kardashian has pointed fingers at ChatGPT, claiming the AI tool has contributed to her struggles in law school. The 45-year-old reality star and aspiring lawyer shared her thoughts during a recent lie detector test on Vanity Fair, where she spoke with Teyana Taylor, her co-star from “All’s Fair.”
When Taylor asked if she used ChatGPT, Kardashian replied affirmatively. However, she clarified that she doesn’t seek the AI’s help for personal or relationship guidance. “We use it for legal advice,” she explained, adding that she often takes pictures of questions and pastes them for answers.
While she didn’t directly label her use of AI as “cheating,” Kardashian did acknowledge that ChatGPT sometimes provides incorrect answers, which has led her to fail tests more than once. “They’re always wrong,” she said, expressing her frustration. “I’d get mad and yell, ‘You failed me! Why did you do this?’” In a twist, she mentioned that the AI often responds back.
Despite these challenges, Kardashian doesn’t consider ChatGPT a friend. “So, is she a frenemy?” asked Taylor. Kardashian agreed, joking that they are “toxic friends” but noted the AI helps her reflect on her instincts.
“It’s like an object,” Kardashian continued, referring to how she shares interactions with friends, illustrating how amazed she is at the AI’s responses. “I’m constantly taking screenshots and sending them to the group chat, like, ‘Can you believe this is happening?’”
Later in the segment, a lie detector operator confirmed that Kardashian’s admissions about utilizing ChatGPT were truthful.
Kardashian has been pursuing law since 2018, using the California Bar Study Program. This pathway allows her to work with established lawyers rather than attending traditional law school. She previously shared her aspirations to enter the legal field in a 2019 interview. In 2021, she passed the “baby bar” exam after three previous attempts. Recently, she took the California bar exam in July and is now waiting for her results.
In “All’s Fair,” Kardashian and Taylor portray lawyers in an all-female law firm, alongside other notable stars like Naomi Watts and Sarah Paulson.
